Auction Sniping sites

is auctionsniper the best or are there other, more effective, sites out there nowadays?

i've never used one before but having been sniped a few times recently i went to have a look at auctionsniper.com:

please provide ebay username...............
please provide ebay password...............

is doing this safe? (or as safe as it can be online)

Don't know about that one. I've used Bidnapper for years with great success. Not only does it input your bid at 4 seconds or so left on the auction, preventing others from bidding again based on your bid, it's good because it removes the inclination for you to bid again.Simply input your max bid and forget it. Also, it will allow you to cancel or raise or lower your bid up to 6 min. before the auction ends. Ebay doesn't. Once you bid you're hooked. Of course, you have to do lots of business to justify $50 a year. I've heard there are some free ones if you look around.

I've used Gixen a number of times over the past couple of years to great success. It's also a free service.

truth is, after some of the experiences i've had on ebay i'm really struggling with the concept of giving out my account details..........

When in doubt, don't give it out. Identity theft is a problem and you should always be cautious with your personal information.

That's one reason I prefer to use a site I pay for...They Might take care of my info.A free site...?

again it's probably me being so pessimistic re: ebay........... but a lot of the 'tips' in regards to how to negotiate ebay policy seems to be from people who have a grudge against the site admin.

when it comes to sniping and providing people with ways to improve their bidding method/strategy i can't imagine who would offer such a service for free, and why? -

maybe ebay are behind some of the free sites?

I use Jbidwatcher and it works pretty well. Has saved me a lot of money over the years.

Bidsniper has the first 5 snipes free.

Of course, it's taken me a couple of years to use my last one.

The bay sells sniping software that you can use. I'm not sure how it works but it looks interesting.
