Atlas H1: Feels Like a 5, Shaves Like an 11

Shaved for the first time today with my Atlas H1. I started with the Titan H1 and then bought the Atlas handle.

Here's what I noticed after the first shave: The Atlas H1 feels as mild as my Slim set at 5, but shaves like it was set at 11.

This was the closest, most comfortable shave ever. Easily as close as my shaves with an R41, but with no razor burn and no nicks, cuts or weepers. Just an amazing BBS shave.

I plan to switch back and forth between the two handles over the coming weeks, but I suspect I'll be sticking with the Atlas handle. I do like the length of the Titan handle, but the extra weight sometimes made me feel like I might drop it. I'm a bit of a klutz, especially in the morning when I'm not sufficiently caffeinated.

Bravo to Stan for creating a really wonderful razor. Others might prefer the R1 or M1 base plates, but it looks like the H1 is going to be a good fit for me.

I'm in complete agreement about the H1. Brutally efficient, while amazingly easy on the skin.

For me the Titan H1 and a Polisilver blade Shaves like an R41 but behaves like and EJ89. Now That sounds like the Perfect Razor if you ask Me

Is your beard heavy, medium, or light? And what blades did you use?

My beard is heavy and dark and really tough. It's like shaving steel wire. No blade in any razor I've tried lasts for more than two shaves before it starts to feel rough.

In the Titan / Atlas H1, I found Med Preps to be the most comfortable so far. I have some Polsilver Super Iridium blades on order. Based on the recommendation from ERVARGASNY, I plan to get some regular Polsilvers as well. I haven't tried Feathers yet in the Titan / Atlas, but will do so over the weekend.
