.....100+ on your comment...

.......Atkinson is the best.........

...........also the Coldinava you told me about is excellent also.........

Have you recently purchased anything from this vendor? This thread about Afrodite Siano makes me stay clear. Their shopping cart assures me that shipping to Norway is €10 regardless of how big my order is, so their software is apparently still "broken". Broken by design, I assume.

looks like the price for DHL shipping, but sometimes you can get them to "small packet" the shipment,as many of us have done when purchasing the very rare Valobra crema de lavanda.

My interest is piqued, what's the shipping price for a "small packet" ? It would be nice if the shipping wasn't so expensive.

danny...you have to keep sending emails until you get a reply...often these guys will wait until an english speaker is around to translate.....http://www.barbershopclassics.nl used to sell it,you may try and ask them to get some for you...always ask ahead of ordering from overseas for "small packet" shipping...this works great for places like http://www.dealextreme.com ,where many purchase flashlights and other goods.DX will ship you 2-to- 4 or 5 small packets, instead of one large one,it saves a huge chunk of $$$.

But 12ml!?! That is rather small!
........yes ! these are mini glass bottles , but contain the best Atkinsons lavender, the same as in the photo here, which runs about $45-50 with shipping from UK or Italy for the 150ml glass...

I sent afroditesiano an e-mail in Italian asking if they would send me some Atkinson's English Lavender with "small packet" shipping and received a generic response, it seemed like a form letter. The response basically thanked me for contacting them and instructed me login to check for product updates. I'll PM http://www.barbieredifigaro.nl and see if they can "small packet" some to me.

I know the AS is double at barbieredifigaro but customer service goes a long way.

Danny...if the $$$ starts to add up,you can get a 40ml or 90ml bottle from the UK with roughly $1.50 shipping (small packet) instead of the big 150ml or the mini bottles...on ebay (u.s.a. or UK)...it really is great stuff, and don't confuse it with these other bottles ,which are also very nice, but not as sophisticated as this blend..

Just to be clear, the Italian version from Connaught and the stuff you get from Cambridge Chemists are different.

First, the CC stuff is cologne strength, not AS. You may be able to use it as an AS, just like many people (me included) use Agua Lavanda Puig in the green glass bottle as an AS, but that's not what it is designed for. I decant my CC Atkinsons into an atomizer and use it as a cologne.

The "Atkinsons for Gentlemen Aftershave" that Connaught sells is good stuff but has a slightly different scent than the cologne from CC. It is heavier on the lemon/citrus and is formulated like a proper aftershave. I posted a review in the review section awhile back.

Another thing, the Atkinsons for Gentlemen Shave Cream in the tube is an altogether different scent from either of the Atkinsons mentioned above.

My thoughts on that here:

I'll most likely add some to my cart when I make an order from Connaught. I like that they have 5 ml samples too. Here's the reply I got from Barbiere di Figaro:

Hi Daniel,

I just checked the weight.

One tiny bottle weighs 49 grams.

The cost of sending an envelope varies from € 3,40 (upto 100 grams) to € 6,80 (upto 250 grams)

This would be a not track and trace-shipment and we can only use an envelop with small bubble-plastic so there is no guarantee (we will do our best) that these tiny bottles reach you in one piece.

If you want to proceed, just do it trhough the site, please use euros during checkout and wait for us to send the invoice before you use Paypal.

Thanks,

Lysbet
