When using a post shave balm, what method do you use? I for one, prefer to have my hands slightly damp, apply the balm to my hands and in turn apply the balm to my face with my hands. Finishing off by fanning my face with a towel to evaporate any excess moisture

I do the same. I've been getting fast absorbing thin balms lately, like Trumper skin food. Some of the thicker ones take longer or leave too much residue on my face. A little goes a long way.
There are times when I mix some menthol gel into the balm in my hands and then apply. Or I might use witch hazel or a splash first, then balm.
