The people at Gillette who developed their old way of shaving have either long ago retired, or were broomed out at the exec level and replaced with P&G types starting in 2005. It's those P&G execs who are bashing the old ways developed by Gillette....and P&G employs scientists to study how create a razor that delivers the best shave. How on earth could a razor 50 years old be better than what they come up with???
I'm slightly impressed that Gillette is taking time to bash their old way of shaving. It must be really taking off to get their attention.
“Every time we add a blade, the comfort of the shave has improved.”
What about this guy: "The multi-blades work great. And you don't have to change the blades for a long time. I think a lot of it gets down to how tough your beard is. Mine is not made up of industrial strength hairs. So I get at least two or three months from one blade, sometimes more. They are expensive initially, kind of like flourescent light bulbs. You pay a lot up front, but in the long run they are cheaper and do a better job."
Wow...just, wow. I'll bet this guy wouldn't know a DE, SE or straight razor if you threw one at him...which is kind of what I'd like to do actually.

"...almost all of the research on razors and hair removal was produced or funded by the industry itself."
Best line of the article, about research:
