I was not sure where to post this exactly. And, I try never to put down any companies. However, this incident has me a little steamed. So, the above company has acrylic shaving brush handles. I have thought about assembling my own brush before with the knots from Golden Nib. But, I did not want to use wood, and the vintage brush I was going to transform broke So, I came across this website. I had some questions, which I asked. These are my questions verbatim:
" I was looking at your shaving brush blanks. I was curious about a couple
of things. I am possibly interested in trying to create one or two. I have
a source for the badger hair. However, I do not necessarily tend to be the
handiest person in the world. So, if a person knew they needed a 22mm knot, would you all ever pre-drill that size, and if so, what, if any, additional
cost would there be? Also, I have viewed the video on shaping the brush
handle. What are your thoughts on either leaving the handle the way that
it is (without any shaping) or the success of sanding these into a shape? I
neither have a lathe, or access to one. Thank you for the information."
Below is the response I received:
"Have you ever considered taking up bowling? :>)"
That's it! Now, if that had been part of the response, it would have been humorous. But, they didn't even answer my questions! Be funny, but don't be patronizing.
Anyways, I sent off a reply that will get me nowhere. It certainly wasn't friendly, and said essentially that I will not plan on making any purchases with them. Nor would I recommend it to anybody. And that I hoped they treated their other customers better.
Anyways, I thought it was annoying enough to be brought up if anybody in the future was thinking about using the company. Hopefully, somebody else can avoid the same frustration. So, does anybody know where I could buy some pre-drilled acrylic blocks?
