Are Your Hones Insured?

Rose to the occasion
I will bet you a dollar to a doughnut that regular home owners insurance doesn't cover them. Or razors for that matter. HAD, RAD, SAD. Over the years, all have accumulated and are turning into a valuable chunk of change. The hones are most likely worth the most.

Anyone use a rider policy to cover hones and razors?

No. Same goes for razors. I should, but like many "collectables", it is always tricky to establish (and then prove when you need to) and accurate value.

Say, and I'll pick one at random, a nice quality CF. Maybe worth $200ish on the open market? But I found it all covered in oil, and took a punt for $30, and have no receipts... I can take lots of photos, but then who is going to back the $200 estimate? Not the insurance company, I bet.

I've called about a rider on my audio equipment, worth a ton more than my shaving stuff, was told what the contents were insured at and it is far more than what the contents cost. So I'm pretty comfortable with the way my insurance is structured.
