Are Old Chrome/Nickle Gillette Razor Blade Cases Rare?

I can't seem to locate one on ebay and have tried different search terms to no avail. I don't need a whole shave set but am trying to locate just a blade case for my travel kit. Is this something that's ultra rare and only found when obtaining a full kit? I would have thought that something would show up. Alternately, is there a modern equivalent available from a retailer?

Many thanks!

Scott

I've seen a few of them, usually searching under razor blade holder, but they tend to be pretty expensive unless you find one with a cased razor.

Keep looking. They do come up separate from razors (or with).
Try WTB here at B&B? Someone may have an extra they would part with.
I have one- they are useful as a travel blade bank.

Sent you a link to a current auction on ebay.....

I got several at different times....seems as if there a lots of them on all at once or they are scarce as hen's teeth. I do not know of any modern equivalents. I paid about $10/case

I was looking a few weeks back to complete my then Gillette New Standard. I found that a few had been listed at Gillette Match box / blade case. Still going for around £5 to £10 though so not cheap.

Darn... I missed the auction ending. :crying: I was out browsing through the flea market and antique shops but came up empty other than a full bottle of Old Spice Cologne from 1989 for $1.

I picked up a pair of them at an antique fair for $10 a piece full of old blades. The stall did have more of them and the stallholder seemed to think they were fairly available. Haven't tried eBay though.

Check ebay for match cases.....there are tons of different kinds/shapes there.

I have purchased a couple on the 'Bay. They go anywhere from $5 to $15 depending upon finish, condition, and interest. There are almost always some there on auction. Search for "blade case", "blade box", or "blade safe". You can also try adding "metal" and/or "razor"--"metal blade box" or "razor blade case". I never see them at flea markets or antique stores/malls by themselves. Good luck.
