Apple Brandy

Very good stuff, quality, tasty 6-yo brandy, but no cheap, although it also comes in 375ml for $33. Bought mine at Cask n' Keg in Mystic, Conn.

Clear Creek also makes a very good 6yo that ain't cheap. The Clear Creek 2-yo is affordable and not bad, smooth, with mild apple flavor.

I hear there are a couple small California apple brandies that are worth a shot. Lairds, the makers of Applejack, also produce several aged appl brandies, a 7 and a 12-yo, or around there. The 7-yo I had several years ago, it was good, affordable, not overly complex.

I have been enjoying a bottle of the Laird's Very Old. It was $25-30 bucks for 7 1/2 year old stuff. They also have a bottled in bond 100 proof that I would like to try. It is actually slightly cheaper, but may not be long for this world.........

Laird's Apple Bond is one of my favorite discoveries of last year. It is not a sipping brandy, but it is fantastic in cocktails - especially the Jack Rose (made with lime and good or homemade grenadine)

I posted some recipes and reviews on my blog about it if interested here
