AOS Lavender vs Castle Forbes

Fight Fight !!
I have heard Lavender is the best cream for your face skin (Lavender essential oil)
Which one of these creams would be best for skin

I LOVE AOS cream, but have never tried the lavender. I will say RazoRock's King of the Castle Lavender is fantastic stuff.

I would personally go for the Castle Forbes. AoS though isn't bad at all either. The consistency of the CF is very concentrated though so it will last...

I have CF Lavender and AoS Sandalwood. Assuming (and we all know what "assume" really means) that AoS Lavender performs the same/similarly as their Sandalwood scent then I would give the nod to CF. AoS cream is great but CF adds a touch more slickness and cushion. Post-shave skin condition is about the same, but I am an AS/ASB guy user so I do not recall the finer details about each product.

One non-performance quality that is worth noting is that CF is heavily concentrated. The cream is very dense (practically a soap). I loaded for less than half the time (compared to AoS cream) to get dense lather.

I've used both and for me, the CF Lavender significantly outperforms the AOS cream. Not even close. And the CF cream lasts much longer. Its very concentrated and has a very genuine and pungent lavender scent.

This is exactly the info I was looking for when I posted earlier in the week for "what lavender cream smells like Mike's Hungarian Lavender".

Sounds like CF is worth a try for sure.

Just curious, is Castle Forbes like RR King of the Castle--that is, more of a croap? If so, I'd say it's comparing apples to oranges. AOS is a true cream (though a fairly concentrated one).

Yes, CF is a very dense cream that seems to work better when lathered more like a soap, making it, essentially, a croap. (Based on the name, I'd guess RR is a rip-off of Castle Forbes. However, RR really should have named their cream Lord of the Castle, since the head of the Forbes Clan is the Lord Forbes, not King Forbes.)

You're right: AOS is a soft cream in the English tradition. In fact, AOS creams used to be made in England, most likely at Creighton's, like the three Ts and D.R. Harris. Although AOS creams are now made in the US, they seem to be the same as before. I agree - it's a bit of an apples and oranges comparison, but we can still suggest which one might be better for skin, and for overall quality, per the OP's inquiry.

Well put, and thanks for the info. If the RR KOC is similar to the CF, I can say it depends on what I'm going for. Both are fantastic latherers. But sometimes I just want to dip the tips of the brush and go to lathering. On those occasions, I prefer a true cream, and AOS is a damn good one. OTOH, the KOC doesn't take much more work (though a bit) and results in a spectacular lather, too. Perhaps the AOS is a bit slicker and the KOC provides a bit more cushion, if we are splitting hairs.

Can't speak to the scents on these two, though. The KOC scent is very nice, but perhaps a bit mild for some (not me, though).
