AOS After-Shave Gel ???

Hey gents,

I have not heard anyone talk about this product from AOS and even tried the search. I love the unscented balm they have but it does leave my face a tad bit oily. The balm works great but the oily film left on my face is not so great. I was woundering if this would be a nice alternitive.

I love the gel. I think the only concern is price, and some folks who have tried the sandalwood have found they were a little sensitive to the oils. If you're using the unscented, go for it.

i have the sandalwood gel. its very nice. it smells great and definately helps with razor burn.

it absorbs very quickly into your skin so you shouldn't have a problem with that oily feeling you might get from a balm.

The AOS gel is a good product. It may be spendy, but it contains high-quality ingredients, and is less expensive than the balm. It leaves less of an oily residue than the balm, but the tradeoff is it doesn't moisturize as well. It still does a nice job of conditioning and soothing after the shave, though, and is well worth trying if you like a/s gels.

This is a worth while product. At first I was disappointed because I was expecting it to "do something" like burn or tighten the skin or remove redness. It did not do those things for me like other immediate gratification products. They seem to make a big deal about their AS having no disinfectants, and I presume implying no irritants.

But, when my shave is not aggressive (ie feather and I get sloppy) it works nice. I simply like it and come back to it. I use lemon.

I think of it as skin food with better ingredients, a bit thicker and scents that I enjoy more. No one will notice the scent unless you are within kissing distance.

I prefer the gel over the balm. The balm was too heavy, but the gel is lighter, absorbs quickly and doesn't leave any oily feeling on my skin. I use the unscented and will get another bottle when I finish this one.

I just checked the AOS website. The pictures of the gel are outdated. They stopped using the green bottles several years ago, switching to the clear, shaker-top bottles the balm used to come in. What I'm not sure about is if they've since switched to the smaller pump bottles the balm now comes in. I would guess yes, meaning that instead of 125ml for $35, you now only get 100ml for the same price.
