Anything Special?

One of the other razors that my wife came home with the other day was this guy. It's a 4/8 Anchor Brand square tip. It's got some surface rust that will need cleaned up. I'm wondering if it's anything special or if I should have no fear starting a restoration job on it.

I restored an Anchor 5/8 with much more ornate scales about a year ago and it was very straightforward. Thing cleaned up well and shaves great!

Well, guys. You've seen the "before" photos. Here's what I've converted this rusty relic into.

As you can see, I didn't want to go all-out and give the blade a mirror finish. Instead, I took off the rust and sanded it to only about 1000 grit. I felt that given the pitting in some areas, a mirror finish would look a bit hokey. So, I gave it some nice Brazilian cherry scales, a nice 2-tone pinning, and I even salvaged the original wedge. Overall, I'm happy with the results.
