What's new

anyone use Ogallala's Bay Rum soaps?

I ordered the sampler pack and so far the Bay Rum soap is great ! Lathers well and my razor glides effortlessly over my face . Nice rum scent that doesn't overpower too much.
...very Bay Rummy . Still have four other soap samplers to get through . Sampler pack is a great deal !

Cheers,

Scott

I have the Bay Rum Lime and Peppercorns. I really like it. Makes a great thick and moist lather that smells amazing! You can't go wrong for the price. I also picked up the matching cologne/aftershave. I'd think any bay rum fan would be happy with a purchase from Ogallala.

I use them and really like them.

I highly recommend the soap sampler if you can't decide on a scent.
The samples come in "rounds" rather than "pie" slices so they are very easy to use.

Otherwise I think the origianl Bayrum and the Bayrum, limes & peppercorns
are my favorites.

I have their Bay Rum, Sage & Cedar soap and really like it. Can be a tad drying though. However, I love the scent! Wish they offered AS & colonge in this scent as well.

I have both the Bay Rum Sandalwood and the Bay Rum Sweet Orange. I have used both and as far as cushion and glide, the soap is IMHO an underestimated/less known great. Best part is the smell. SWMBO is not a huge fan of the sandalwood (though, I love it) and it's a warmer more autumnal scent... and the sweet orange is truly amazing. It's like an island creamsicle- perfect for spring and summer.

They're fantastic. I have the plain bay rum and the bay rum lime peppercorn. I especially love the lime-peppercorn one. My only negative was the lemongrass one to which my skin reacted, so you might want to watch that one if you have sensitive skin.

They're very nice soaps. I just have the bay rum and it smells great. It lathers very easily and produces a nice thick lather. Can't really go wrong with them you ask me.

I won a couple samples of the lime and peppercorn and the sage and cedar and was impressed. I would buy the full size versions if I didn't have so many other soaps already.

I tried the Ogallala shave soap 1 time,
the lather is great, the scent too, but i get a unpleasant feeling of burning/irritation while it's on my face.

The bay rum with sweet orange is new and also a standout offering in their line. I picked mine from from gentlemensbest.com. I don't know if it is being sold at all of the regular vendors.

I ordered some from Gentlemens Best and love it. I never used the old formula but this is supposed to be reformulated to lather even better and it does lather good. The scent is the best Bay Rum I've smelt so far IMHO. It's only about $5 for a puck so give it a try. For what it's worth, my wife likes the scent as well.

Its really nice but I find the lather to dissipate faster than others but a quick recharge and its back. bay rum, limes & peppercorn, cedar & sage :thumbup1:

Placed an order for the limes & peppercorn from bullgoose, should be arriving tomorrow. Really looking forward to trying it now. Also, the price can't be beat

Forgot to mention that their customer service is excellent. John is a great guy to deal with. No ties to the company just a very satisfied customer.

More like is anyone not using them. John's soaps produce a thick, fragrant, and moisturizing lather. Even in the top of a scuttle, the lather does not break down-it just gets creamier.:thumbup1:

His A/S are a must in every shave den.

I have their Bay Rum, Sage & Cedar shave stick. It's my go to all around travel soap. I travel almost every week, so I use it weekly and can say face lathering with this soap creates an effortlessly thick, slick great smelling lather.
