I have a 636, and it is a good little brush. Omegas tend to be on the softer side with their bristles, so you get a more luxurious experience, not really scrubby. It has a short loft, so it should have decent backbone.

I haven't tried it, but I am also very curious as to how it preforms. I have been looking for a reasonably priced, small silvertip brush, for all around use (creams and soaps, bowl and face lathering) and this Omega seems to fit the bill... Hopefully someone here has tried it!

I'm looking to satisfy my itch to own a smaller brush. The original plan was a Wee Scot, but I just saw this as a slightly larger alternative.

I use the 599 almost daily... simply awesome!!! Very small handle, but don't let that fool you into thinking this is in the same class as the wee scott. The knot is very dense and holds a ton of lather for a short little fella, the bristles are very soft, but it has a bit of back bone due to the short loft. I usually use cream, but it works well with soaps too.

I also have the slightly bigger knotted 615, and a wee scott. I have not lost a single hair from either Omega, wish I could say that about my Plisson. The Plisson has lost at least 50 if not more, and I waited 10 months for the 18mm dud to be shipped from France for $175 CDN

The 615 is losing some of the black from the inside , so I don't use it that often. Both Omega's make excellent precise daily lather factories that can easily be packed for travel, and are reasonably priced for silvertips.

I just bought an Omega 599, after using Wee Scot for some time. I use only creams, no soaps.

The Scot is a cute little thing, semi-soft at the tips, and works surprisingly well. Very good for face lathering, its forté, perhaps. Bowl lathering was adequate at best...but it's a lot of fun to use. With an almond sized bit of cream, I can get two passes and sometimes three. Due to its size/knot, you have to put a little more time into working up a lather. The small size of the handle however, made it slippery, especially when lather got on the handle, which is almost inevitable.

The 599 knot was quite tight when it first arrived, very similar in size to the Scot's. After an initial washing and drying however, the 599 bloomed considerably, the crown widening into a fan shaped powderpuff, quite nearly the size of my Simpson Commodore X2 which has a 22mm best badger knot! The Omega is soft on the face, yet has enough backbone to lather better than the Scott overall both on face and in bowl. I also find that I can keep hold of the handle quite a bit better than I can with the Scot.

It would be fun to see what other very small brushes are out there and have a clash of the flyweights sometime!

I actually just picked up both the Wee Scot and the Mighty Midget (Omega 40033) from www.shoeboxshaveshop.com
My thinking is that I love my Omega 10066, but it's not quite as stiff as I want it to be (it's still great, but I want to try a brush that is known for face lathering, since I'm an Arko junky!). I figure the short lofted boar on the Omega vs. the Wee Scot should be an interesting tilt. Now, had I noticed the 599.... Oh well, there's always next time.

I have been using one about 6 months. The only thing small about it is the handle! I face lather and alternate between soaps and shave sticks. It is a huge value proposition at $40 for a Silver tip brush! I also have a Bambino and a 10275. All are good brushes. Enjoy the 599!!

This is funny. I wanted to post about whether to get the Wee Scot or the Omega 599. I like a little scrub to my brushes. I wouldn't mind a small silvertip and I haven't tried a Simpson's pure grade. The small size is actually a quality for me. What do you think the pros and cons are of each?

Ha funny, I just ordered one of these yesterday. I enjoy collecting and using the smaller brushes-also got the Omega 40033 mighty midget and 50068 bambino boar brushes.

Great little brush...amazing how soft it is but still enough backbone for soft and glycerin/veg based soaps. Truly a great value for a silver tip brush. One of my favorite small brushes in my rotation.

I was considering these two brushes also. I have a beard right now, so I like smaller brushes, since I can lather more precisely. After seeing the blooming on the omega, I think I'll opt for the scot. Actually, I'll give that mighty midget a look too!
