anyone else get less ingrowns by shaving daily vs every other day?

It seems I get less ingrowns and bumps if I shave every day. In reality I could shave every other or possibly third day but I seem to get bumps if I wait. I do splash with witch hazel to keep pores clean after a shave and that also helps a lot.

Absolutely. I can push two days if needed, but day three the irritation sets in. Also go over my face with witch hazel as part of my daily routine after the shave and before the ASB.

Previously, I could not shave more than 3 days in a row, or else razor burn city. Since switching to DE I can shave as often as I like (daily, not hourly) and be fine. I think a lot of this has to do with me recognizing nuances and correcting technique and better consumables. If I go a few days w/out it will be worse the first couple of shaves, but I chalk this up to inattentiveness. Longer than that might be conditioning.

I seem to get less ingrowns when shaving every day, but I think it has more to do with better face mapping and taking my time to enjoy the experience more than anything else.

Yes, I have definitely notice a difference when I shave daily. There are little to no bumps at all. However, after the 3rd day of hair growth I will tend to notice bumps on my neck area but not my face. The witch hazel has helped a lot, but I've come to realize I'm going to have ingrowns or face bumps no matter due the hair growth on men of color. This is a good excuse for me to shave more frequently, thanks for enabling me B&B.

Oddly enough, in the nearly five months since I have switched to a DE razor from the ol' Quattro...I have had maybe two ingrown hairs at the most, as compared to before when I would have at least a dozen on my face at all times thanks to the cartridge and canned goo.

I did, however, still get a few "razor bumps" (not the ingrown hairs, just the red painful bumpy things) until I learned not to go ATG on my neck, just XTG.

Yes, now that I do DE shaving everyday I seldom have an ingrow hair.

That is why I switched to single blade disposable then to DE shaving. Every shaving gave me one or two ingrown hairs.

Daily facial exfoliation with a mild scrub cream and alum block after shave also helps.

My skin now s as good as when I was a child wich I never had since I became teenager (I am 33 now).

Yes. I was afraid I was strange in daily shaving giving me less irritation and ingrowns. I still take one shaving day off per week, but my face is in considerably better shape now that I quit shaving every other day.

I can't shave twice in one day, that just hurts my face. I honestly haven't waited more than 2 days between shaving since I started wet shaving, but I don't think waiting 48 hours (shaving every other day) makes a difference for me. More than that may, but I am pretty sure since I go anywhere from 24-48 hours between each shave that the one day wait isn't a big deal. But then again maybe I've gotten used to shaving every day and every other day?

I don't know, but I haven't noticed this....I think waiting a few days may not be as great though.

What I HAVE noticed is that my skin is clearer (less acne, usually not ingrown hairs though) if I shave more often, daily, vs every other day.

My face can't handle shaving everyday. If I do I wind up with a ton of irritation and some ingrowns as well. Most of the time in 24hrs there's usually not enough hair to warrant a shave. I try to go 3 days in between unless I have a special event to go to then its less.
