What's new

Any thoughts as to what it is?

For the last 4 years I've been working out at the gym. I go every day, and as of now I've lost 30 pounds and 6 inches off my waistline. My legs have always been in excellent shape my entire life, but for the past few months or so I've been getting what feels like muscle pain in both of my legs in the calf area. I've been taking a statin for 18 months or so and I've heard that they can cause muscle pain. The only thing is this pain has only been going on for about the last 4 months. Of course I'm going to see my Dr. about it, but it'll probably be a good 4 weeks or more before I can get into see him. Any ideas?

Is it just pain or are your calves cramping? I was always getting cramping in the calves and a magnesium supplement and more potassium (sweet potato, banana, etc.) got rid of it. Hopefully the doc can figure out what's causing it.

Could be your soleus, the muscle deep to your "calf muscle" (your gastrocnemius, the muscle everyone calls your calf)

Regardless, if you're in sever pain see your doctor.
