What's new

Any Sticky fans out there?

I picked up a cheap, very user-grade (cracked, missing endcaps) Wilkinson Sticky on the Bay recently and have been quite impressed with it so far. When I first put a blade in it, I was worried that it would be very aggressive, since there appears to be a lot of exposure, and the blade is held at a very different angle than your typical Gillette. However, it turned out to be relatively mild, a bit more aggressive than my go-to '47 Super Speed. The only thing I'm not crazy about is the longer handle, but I can get used to it. Does anyone else enjoy using a Sticky regularly, or are they mainly just collector's items?

I owned 2 in the past. It is a decent razor but not a favorite. It's a very attractive design that won industrial design awards in it's day.

Another excellent shave with the Sticky. Sure, it has an innovative design and it's relatively rare, which would make it sought after by collectors. Obviously (at least judging by this thread) not too many people think they make good shavers.

I can say that is a mild razor.I have been one month only DE shaving with a HD and today I tried this and had to do 3 passes compared to the 2 of the Merkur.

Will keep on trying to improve the technique

I have one and use it occasionally. Decent mild shaver, though no better then a Tech or Super Speed in my estimation. What I dislike are the ergonomics of the handle. I find it too thin for comfort in the hand and secure grip - the smooth black plastic is not as "sticky" as its name implies for me. Looks real neat though...

I owned one once. I found it required a bit different angle than a Gillette or Merkur. I also felt it to be a mild shaver.

Sounds like a good candidate to be a lady's leg shaver, since they like to take fast, long, dangerous strokes.

Hmmm...not much WS love in here.
If anyone wants to get rid of their Sticky, I'll be happy to take it off your hands for a couple of bucks!

(sorry for the obligatory B&B joke...couldn't resist)
