Any one-brush users out there?

I started wet-shaving back in March when I ordered the VDH Luxury shave kit, with the Badger brush, stand, apothecary bowl and VDH luxury scented soap. I knew it was a 'starter' set and figured if anything, the bowl would be the only thing I would still be using in a few months. I researched brushes and asked around for advice on the next brush I should buy.

Anyhow, here I am 8 months later and the whole set is still in use. Even the VDH puck is in the rotation. But I am surprised about the brush... I expected it to shed and fall apart and need replacement asap. But it's holding strong, and it whips up every soap and cream I've picked up and used.

I got thinking today how the brush upgrade lost it's urgency. There are other soaps and creams I'd rather spend the money on first, and I'd love to pick up a straight razor starters kit at some point... but it seems like, unless there is a strange catastrophic failure with the brush, I probably will stay with it for the foreseeable future.

It's a strange feeling to be satisfied with one item.... especially with the wet-shaving AD's. Does anyone out there have or use just one brush regularly?

Yep. I went through every AD known, but I am now slimmed down to one of each item, and all the rest are boxed up. This is my Go-to brush now.

I refurbished several brushes and bought one new one when I began DE shaving. I've not acquired a brush for a while though and I have narrowed down to a 2-3 in rotation. I think it's great that you are happy using one. And it does free up resources!

I have not used any brush but my Duke 2 since I received it and really don't plan on using a different one anytime soon. Of course at some point I'm sure I'll get bored and order 3 or 4 more...

I only own two brushes, an Omega boar and a Tweezerman badger. The Omega gets used 90% of the time.

Had a jaguar boar. It sucked. Ditched it and got a whipped dog 24mm. I wouldn't mind getting a decent boar later on, but for right now, I'm very happy with my brush from Larry.

Yeah, I restored an Erskine brush almost 2 years ago and it's the one I use all the time. Got a couple others that are serviceable but just don't get in the game.

For over 40 years I used the same brush, same shaving mug, and same razor. So yea, I "could" (and have) use one brush exclusively

Hanging round this particular forum by definition methinks excludes the possessiom of items in the singular...

I have 2 brushes, a Savile Row and a Crabtree and Evelyn brush. I would say I use the Crabtree and Evelyn brush 90% of the time.

I'm a one brush user, the same VDH luxury kit pure badger as yours. I guess I don't understand the need for more than one brush. The VDH does what it needs to do with a variety of soaps and that works for me. Eventually it will need to be replaced but until then, I'll stick with this one.

My first brush was also a VDH badger, bought as a part of the starter kit. I was quite satisfied with it until I bought a badger travel brush from Star Shaving. What a difference. The travel brush holds about twice as much water and holds it's shape. The VDH has hairs swirling in all directions. I suddenly understood why I could not load a brush and make lather like everyone else on this forum. So I bought a new knot from TGN and just finished epoxying it into my VDH handle about 3 hours ago. I can't wait to use it.

I always use Onega 49 boar brush.
Although I have another brush I bought at Japanese $1 store, it's too hard and short loft boar brush.
Since I've got the Omega, I use only it for almost 3 years.
... But B&B Essential boar is coming to my den soon...
