What's new

Any of you put your plastic bottled stuff in vintage glass?

I just put my Clubman into an Avon glass bottle that looks like an old whiskey jug. Pain in the ***, and spilled some.

Does the glass "decanter" make much differance? Have an easier way to get it in the bottle?

I always decant my AS from the plastic bottles to cobalt blue glass bottles with spray tops. I have a couple of small funnels to do this with - you have to be sure the ends of the funnels fit in the whole of the "decanter". And, be careful not to overfill or you end up with a mess. I think my wife got the funnels at The Container Store, if you have any of those nearby.

My girlfriend picked up a "Perfume funnel" at Bed Bath and Beyond for me to decant my aftershaves. Works like a charm! You have to go slow, but shouldn't spill any that way. I used both vintage Avon bottles and clear bottles with orifice reducers to decant mine. The only one I've noticed a real difference in was the VEG :Veg:

More to come as I pick up more matching Pinaud bottles.

Picked up this green glass bottle for $2.95 at Michael's (hobby / crafts shop) while shopping for a picture frame. I used it to store my witch hazel.

My aftershaves come in glass bottles already (Speick, Proraso, 4711).

Now that is the bottle and the formulation of AV that I rememberand cant seem to duplicate.

Great idea. I will be looking around for some nice old bottles. They will look much better than my cheap plastic stuff.
