What's new

Any of you old "bush wackers" out there.......

remember these?...Not where you thought this was going huh.......

Yup, I remember them but I've never seen the packing. Weren't they referred to as a P38 or something?

There was one in every C ration meal. I brought home a bunch after I left Korea in 1968. We were served one C ration meal when out on post.

I used to work with a bunch of ex-military guys and they made fun of me one day because I, the college boy, A.) didn't have the slightest clue what this thing was and B.) once told, could not for the life of me actually open a can with it.

I had one on my key ring for all of my Army career and I think I have a 'John Wayne' (P38), or two in my old Army trunk somewhere.

I always carry a couple of these around in my camping kit and while out 4x4ing. So handy....my wife still lives her electric one best. Lol

Yes they are handy. My wife can not live with her electric one and 1 time during a power outage she was stumped on how to open a can with no electricity. I did not even give it a second thought and just open the can with my P38.

I had a bunch of the big ones I brought home from the military. I dont even remeber how I got all of them. They worked great. Somehow appearnlty the container I had them in must have said take one because they all disappeared and I always put the one I took camping an on my hunting trips
back in the coainter like an idiot. ( thinking I woulndt loosenit that way) One day, I go
to get one and they were all gone!!!!!!! when I asked my dad he said oh, I thought you had more somewhere . I was brining them to work and giving them to guys who asked for em after they'd see me using the one you gave me. He wouldnt
cough up the last one either. I finally seen a place that was selling em a few years ago at a decent price so I ordered a bunch thinking they were the big ones. Chinese knock offs damnit!!! Think paper would give em a hard time. Eveentaully I will find a good one. My big hands and the little ones never worked well together.
