What's new

any NASCAR fans in here?

Is there anyone besides me here that enjoys the Nascar races. I know it is stereotyped as a redneck sport, but I love it nontheless. Anyone else, or just me?

I will claim the title of a NASCAR fan; living here in the heart of stock car country its hard to avoid. I don't get to watch as many races as I would like, and would like them them to change a few things like they use to be, but I am a fan.
Die hard Bobby Labonte fan, and I will continue to pull for the #18 Joe Gibbs car even with Busch. He needs to grow up, but I like his driving.

Its good to see some other NASCAR fans on here.. I have been a Harvick fan since about 2005. Luckily, I have some friends in the media, and some friends who work for RCR racing. Through those connections, I have been able to do some cool things.. The latest cool experience that I did was last Tuesday, when I was able to go to the Harvick press conference to announce his Budweiser sponsorship. Here are some pictures for your enjoyment.

Yes, Nice Pictures! So who is going to take that last 12th spot? I'd like to see McMurray take it.

Mc Murray is in 13th place, and he is about 100 points out. I think at this point, Clint will take the 12th position, barring any disasters these next 2 races.

Yep, not too far down the road. We are in McLeansville. Grew up in Trinity/HP, and had a nice racing community there.

I remember watching Denny Hamlin race at the local track that is about 1 miles as the crow flies from my house, Southside Speedway, the original short track. It's a normal Friday night staple for my kids and I.

you are my new hero.....

well, after Harvick.....

who is, of course, after Earnhardt

as far as calling myself a "fan" of NASCAR, I don't, technically.....I'm a fan of stock car racing, and NASCAR fits in that criteria, but since the late 90's my fandom of the organization of NASCAR started dwindling, and when Earnhardt died, it dwindled drastically.
I still watched - hard to break a nearly 2 decade habit, you know?

Despite all the things that have irked me - COT, Toyota, the best tracks losing race dates to crappy tracks - I've kept watching. I understand the reasoning of those, but I don't have to like it :biggrin1:

I will say, though, the racing this year has been the best in over a decade (and I don't just say it because the 29 is kicking butt :001_cool:)

Yes, the racing this year has finally gotten a lot better. TV does not do it justice at all. I have been to a few races this year, and each one has been great.
