Any Hirsh Users Out There?

Dennis:

I think only a small handful of us here have tried the Hirsh Luxury cream. I don't have a lot more to add to what I already posted in the other thread. I'm very impressed with their customer service, especially the way they sent me a tub of the lemon scent when I didn't like the unscented version (turned out to be the strong scent of the Shea butter, which didn't bother the other member to whom I PIF'd the unscented.)

The moisturizing quality of the Hirsh is excellent - among the best I've tried. My skin feels really great after a shave with Hirsh. The cream isn't quite as slick as my favorite creams like Spencer & Devon, but the cushion is very good. You can get samples of the Hirsh from Garry's Sample Shop, and it's probably worth trying if you're curious about it.

Thanks for the reply. I was hoping that a new thread might draw a little more interest.

The price for quantity has me intrigued. I was wondering if anyone has tried their sandalwood? How was the scent? Since it appears they are going after AoS, if it smells similar to their's I'd be all about getting some.

I have a pot of the lemon that I got as part of a lot on the B/S/T but haven't tried yet. Has a nice scent (doesn't seem too artificial or too sweet) and similar consistency to the AoS creams. Was trying to work my way through some other samples first but maybe I'll have to give this a whirl this weekend

I was in their shop a month ago. Nice place to visit if you are into other luxury items like watches and cigars. People there were very accommodating and helpful. I did not buy a Hirsh cream, but did buy one of their brushes.

I did try out the lemon cream this morning, I just loaded it directly out of the pot like I do with the AoS cream and then face lathered.
The scent seemed different once it was lathered up on my face, I can't quite put my finger on it but it seemed like a heavier scent. Will need to try it again to see if I can pick it up... it lathers up pretty similarly to the AoS creams, nice and think and I thought it was very cushioning. Like Nick mentioned about it has a great moisturizing effect on the skin, my face felt great a few hours later even after using AS splash.
I'll try this out again this week and see if I can get a better description of what the sent was like when it was lathered up, it was definitely interesting.

Got another nice shave from the Hirsch lemon yesterday. Loaded directly out of the pot again and face lathered. Loads up very easily (a few swirls gave me plenty for 3 passes plus some blade buffing, and enough left for probably another pass or two), and really goes on thick. Very moisturizing, left my face feeling nice and supple the entire day (did an AS splash mix of unscented alcohol-free witch hazel and Pinaud Lime Sec)

I had some unscented PIF'ed to me by forum bro Nick (who couldn't stand the shea butter scent). I've barely gotten to it, though.... my first impression was that it was very good; still, I liked the Spencer & Devon more, of which I still have 1 1/2 tubs on hand. I'll have to give the Hirsch a more serious shot soon. And I expect it will serve well (and the price couldn't be beat!)
