Antonio Maurizi Shoes

I've been wanting a pair of light honey brown wingtips and found some on Gilt Group today (picture below) that are 60% off the original price of $600. I've been researching the brand, Antonio Maurizi, to see if these are quality shoes but have not found anything. Anyone know anything about the brand and whether these are quality Italian shoes? Thanks in advance!

Even at 60% off, these are as much or more than you would pay for a pair of Allen Edmonds. I wouldn't risk that kind of money on an unknown brand when there are well-known, quality brands in the same price range.

I bought these for $238 shipped, AE's are $300 and above, and they are the style and color I've been trying to find for several months. I've searched Allen Edmonds' website and have been to Nordstroms several times but have not found anything in the light honey brown. I have the option to return if I do not like them, so I have that going for me.

Well, let us know how they turn out. I've looked (but never bought) at Gilt, and most of the sales seem to be final, or you can only get Gilt credit. That's been a big deterrent for me.

Definitely see your point about returns for credit, if the price were north of $250, I doubt I would have taken the gamble. I found several positive reviews about the brand, so its a little bit of a gamble but even if I return the item for credit, I'm sure I will buy from them again.

My only "real" concern is European sizing. I've never bought European sized shoes and had to use the conversion chart to find the US size equivalent (9 1/2 Medium = 43). The manufacture says the shoe runs big and to size down, which is a European size 42. Hope it works!

Did these ever arrive? Curious about how they turned out. I'm also interested in Antonio Maurizi's.

They were shipped last week but had to have them shipped to my in-laws house since I was on vacation for a couple weeks. Will pick up tomorrow...I'm real excited to see how they look and feel. Will let you know soon.

Finally went and picked up my shoes yesterday...man, these are some very well made shoes. The leather is absolutely flawless and butter smooth and the stitching is very detailed. My mother in law looked at them and she was very impressed by the styling and the quality!! I need to buy some of those rubber things that go on the bottom of the shoe to protect and keep them from slipping. Anyone know what they're called?

If the shoes have quality leather soles, bologne construction especially, you should wait a few weeks and wear the shoes so the can mold to you foot the get the rubber soles added by a good cobbler.
