antique straight finds... deal?

I found a local antique store that has a Dubl Duck Goldedge, 6/8 i believe, with most of the gold plating intact on the tang, almost no hone wear and very clean, but had very (and I mean very small) chips in the edge at the heel. I almost didn't see it until I looked really close. The shop owner had it priced at $78.50 and I had him talked down to $65. The other razor I was interested in was a Crown & Sword 7/8 Extra Hollow in good shape, would need to be cleaned, had rust on the tang where it pivots in the scales, and had very minor rust on the edge ( and only the edge/bevel) at about the front 1/2" of the toe. This one was priced at $48.50. I was more interested in the Dubl Duck but got him down to $100 for the pair. So we'll say the Crown & Sword is $35 by itself.

So does this sound like a good deal even with the work involved in getting them shave ready? I realize pictures would help but I didn't think of that until I left the shop. Thanks for any advice in advance.

good deal. (for both).

Crown and sword make good razors. My Ator (made by the same guy) is a great little shaver.

Thanks gents for the information. I think I will try to get back there today and grab them. I'll try to get some pictures up latter today.

Wow dont think i will ever find a dd in an antique store, so nice score, i did win a crown and sword on e bay a few weeks ago for very little money, and its in good shape, so i was lucky there, post some pics please.

Great deal on the DD. Crown and Swords vary in price. I won a boxed pair, in pretty good condition a couple of weeks ago for $28.
