Antique store find

So I've been more and more fascinated by the idea of using a straight lately and decided to browse around in some antique shops to see if I came across anything. I found one store with a pretty nice selection of straights and settled on this one for $60.

To my untrained eye it looks like it's in great shape, no spotting or nicks on the blade (in the picture there is some oil on the blade) and everything feels pretty solid. It seems from what I've read it's the best idea to have it professionally honed before I try it the first time. Should I look around for someone local or is there somewhere I can send it that people recommend?

Where do you live? There might be someone close by.
If there isn't, don't go out of your way to find someone. Send it out to someone who has a good reputation.

Edit: My experience with Sham was great. And he returned the blade really quickly. Dylan also hones great edges in my experience. Here's his site: http://holli4pirating.wordpress.com/

I'm pretty sure i know where you bought that henckels :biggrin1: Their selection comes and goes... I live in the south sound and hit up the stores atleast 2x wk after work. The stores out here are over picked, if not over priced. The red barn in auburn has a couple dozen str8's in a grocery bag... it's full of very good - great cond str8's but the dude wants $200-300 for them. There's 2 other collectors out here in the s.sound that are pick'n atleast 1x week. Deals are getting hard to find with more and more guys wetshaving. I drive a delivery truck along the WA coast so i've been hitting up other cities too... but this estate sale season has been kinda dry.

FYI i've already bought the remaining supply of toms mint at the tacoma g.outlets and am hoarding it :cornut:
