I think this is a Sheaffer Burgundy Touchdown but the clip doesn't match the Touchdown pictures I've found. It has a converter in the barrel. This pen writes very well and I'm definitely keeping it. the serial number is 92597. It would be nice to know what it is.
Yeah, definitely not a Touchdown if it has a converter. Not a Legacy either, I think those are all metal, but I could be wrong -- my Sheaffer knowledge is good up only to about 1960!
I bought this pen. I know it was not a top of the line pen. It was well above the drug store school pens, the ones with the shiny steel caps and the clear plastic barrels. But, it was not a top of the line Sheaffer. Knowing me, I picked a pen that fell in the middle/upper middle price range. I wasn't trying to make a fashion statement. I wanted a good writer.
It has "Sheaffer - Made in the USA scribed/melt imprinted on the barrel. The nib says "Sheaffer" it has the copyright symbol underneath the "r". USA is inscribed on the top of the nib. (opposite the writing point)
The Imperial pictures on that link matched up pretty well.
