What's new

Another new Proper Cloth shirt

Today's arrival: Red & Navy mini-gingham, president point collar, mother of pearl buttons, mitered cuffs, collar/cuff contrast in plum twill, no pocket, no rear pleat, split yoke.

A few pics of it laid out on the bed:

It came out great and should look just right either unjacketed or with a navy blazer.

Thanks! I think the contrasting twill came out nice, and they did a great job matching the pattern on the split yoke. Well done all around.

Yeah I love this shirt, I'm thinking that I'm going to start having most of my shirts MTM, nothing fits me half decently off the rack, if it fits me in the torso the sleaves and neck are too small, if it fits my neck then the torso is rediculously large, and finding sleaves that fit are next to imposible. My neck is right between a 16.5 and 17 as well, 17 is too big and a 16.5 is too tight on my neck. By the time I buy a shirt and pay to have it altered I could get a MTM shirt.

I've found that there's no substitute for made to measure, outside of true bespoke tailoring. I'm thin, but have fairly long arms. If I get an off-the-rack shirt with a 15.5 neck, then the standard 34/35 sleeves are too short. If I get the sleeves long enough, the body is huge.

I absolutely love not having to blouse the shirt as I tuck it in, causing uncomfortable and unsightly pleats. To say nothing of being able to order pocket, cuffs, contrasting fabric, yoke, placket, watch allowance, etc. as I want them, on a shirt by shirt basis.

Highly recommended. I need to start ordering at least 2/month.

I have a 19" neck and 37" arms...the normal person who buys a shirt that size is literally 500lbs. I HATE having to tuck enough fabric to make another shirt in! I'm going to start picking up a few of these semi-bespoke online shirts.

Were I not vastly oversupplied with dress shirts ... dang you, Shirt-AD ... I'd certainly give bespoke/MTM shirts a look.
