Another first SE shave

while waiting for my G to arrive i came across an L and tried it out this morning.

the reports of "easy" and "mild" certainly are true. alum test was passed with flying colors, BBS achieved, and most importantly some neck irritation that i have been seeing lately stayed at bay.

the only potential negative that i see is that the razor did not seem to want to track via gravity. i had to apply just a little pressure to keep the head against my skin. i may have had my lather a little too thick, or it might be user error. is this typical? in this regard, the shave reminded me more of a cartridge razor than a DE razor (but without the cartridge pull).

overall very high marks and there will definitely be a return match!

I find some pressure helps my SE shaves and haven't had any blood flow doing that.

I don't like shaving with L series razors,they feel way too mild,but there is a happy medium with injectors where a razor is a bit on the mild side and a little pressure from the guard bar actually "tees up the whiskers" so they are cut closer to their base.What I just described is actually words used in Shick advertisements back in the old days.I've got a pic of an ad like that laying somewhere around my computer.

A bit of pressure depresses and stretches skin making whiskers better targets.
Makes for a razor more laid back than and E series yet still provides fine results.

OK it sounds like just a little pressure is the way to go. I will have to be careful not to make it a carry over habit, or maybe abandon the L when the G gets here.

I'll second "a little pressure". With Injectors, I always used a little pressure simply because they're all so light, but even my traditional single-edged blade shaves are better with a little pressure. (The idea of allowing the weight of the razor to do all the work never worked for me.)

OK finished a week of shaving with the L and I think I am in love! Would be nice if it had more weight and more bling but pretty darn nice as is.

Next week it is the Gs turn, and I think I know where this is going ...
