Angel's Envy Rye Whiskey

For those of you looking to explore a new area of the rye whiskey circuit, we present to you Angel's Envy Rye Whiskey ($70). This unique liquid is finished in Franco Caribbean Rum Casks which previously carried French cognac. The result is a rye whiskey that begins in a somewhat traditional fashion, but finishes like one you've never tasted before. The aroma is strong with brown sugar and spice, and the taste brings vanilla oak, maple sugar and a dry but sweet finish. It's as if a really great rye whiskey was made by rum runners in the Caribbean.

Haven't found it yet, anxious to try! Supposed to be awesome stuff, that and its sister bourbon...but its not seen in my shops...heading to Massachusetts for vacation, will stop at the shop near our rental cottage...(fingers crosssed)

Looks great...but its kinda expensive ( seen the bourbon for around $50.00). Maybe someday Ill splurge, you can buy a lot of quality bourbon for $50.00 though . In my fantasy baseball league a bottle of this is one of the constellation prizes(the bourbon not the rye)....fingers crossed I win it!

Angels Envy is good stuff. I was offered a sample in a store in Florida and almost walked out with a bottle. I was craving scotch that night, so it went on the to-drink list

I have a bottle of Angel's Envy Bourbon waiting to be sampled. Now they have Rye too? mmmm, though it looks a bit spendy.
