Has anyone else heard of these guys? They are a clothing manufacturer... they produce a Full zip hoody, Sweatshirt, Polos, T-shirt, and Sweatpants... small company but they pride themselves on there quality materials...

Apparently they are quiet popular because almost all there stock is sold out. The best part? It's all entirely made in the good 'ol USA... Just goes to show you if you make a quality product that people like they don't mind paying a bit more for it. Knowing it's made locally knows you are supporting a manufacturing job here in the USA.

I'm guessing their stock is almost sold out because Slate had an article on them saying that they were the best hoodie sweatshirt around. They look nice and are reasonably priced for a USA made product.

I saw the Slate article and at least one other. They seem to be getting a lot of publicity. (I assume in part there is a PR firm being paid to help with that, but there is nothing wrong with that at all.)

What was said in the article seemed to make sense and the quality sounds very good, at a reasonable price. I would dearly love it to be shown that items can be successfully manufactured in the United States and sold profitably, and that a key to the latter, is the ability to manufacture high quality goods and to actually do so!

They look pretty good, I do like the idea of using quality material and cutting out stores and distribution warehouses to keep the costs low. As for made in America, it doesn't do much for me in Canada except for my buddy that is really well read into the Asian sweat shops tells me it is the first of many punches when people start to do the same as this one fellow did. Would I buy this product, yeah I would, though I'm pretty much good on hoodies, sweaters, and the like for a while.

I got an American Giant zip up hooded sweatshirt for Christmas. I had heard of the company and checked out their website last month and thought that everything looked nice enough, but did not stand out. But man, this thing is really well made. Reinforced at the weakest points, double stitched, thick cotton, beefy zipper and elastic; I am really happy with it. I went back to the website and peeked at the price out of curiosity, and at under $80, you cannot beat the quality of this thing. Highly reccomended.

Received a regular crew neck sweatshirt today... wow

I don't have time to do a complete write up right now but I had to take a moment to stick a feather in American Giant's hat

First impressions:
- The build quality seems better than any sweatshirt I own
- The cut is quite tappered and/or "athletic"
- Technically, I measure in at the top of what the suggest a Medium for. I decided to get a large and I'm glad I did b/c a medium would have been skin tight.
- This is a heavyweight sweatshirt (as advertised) and I'm already worried my girlfriend is going to steal it b/c it's so cozy
- I want more

One more thought on the sweatshirt - I'm not sure how wild I am about the length of the elastic around the wrists. It's FAR from a deal breaker, but it certainly isn't ideal. I hope/expect it serves a utilitarian function but I'm not sure.
