What's new

Am I missing something?

I really enjoy aftershaves and I own a fairly decent selection of them but I am always looking to add something new & different than what I already have. So I submit to all of you, based upon what what I currently have, what do you believe would round out my selection. Looking for scents or catagories not currently represented. I have a pet peave about original conatiners, that being said I can't convince myself to buy decants. :((

currently have:
Aqua Velva: Ice Blue & Musk
Pinaud: Clubman, Lime Sec, Bay Rum, Lilac Vegetal, Special Reserve
Old Spice: P&G Classic, Shulton Original & Fresh Lime
Tabac
Ogallala: Bay Rum, Peppercorn & Limes
Osage Rub
Proraso ASB
Monsieur Musk
Pashana AS
Musgo Real
SCS Limes Splash & Milk (Savory Rose is on it's way)
English Leather Musk
Brut AS Splash
TSD: Patchouli, Vetyver
German Pitralon

Wish list:
Alt Innsbruck

This is from memory so I'm sure I'm forgetting at least one. I'm very eager to get some new Ideas from all of you. thx

Jeff

That's a great list  -- tell us which you find yourself using most often.

As for additions, definitely Alt. SCS Med Citrus is another great, IMHO, as well as SCS Blue Line and MB Summer Ice to round out your menthol sampling. And Booster -- you've got to try one or more of their offerings, as the resultant face feel is top notch, at least in my experience.

One or more of the variety of Floids. I'm partial to the Italian myself.

I also just picked up some Skin Bracer Cool Spice on EBay. I really like it, but someone at work commented the other day that 'someone' smelled like baby powder and bug spray....

Where's the Speick? I would also consider La Toja, Hattric, Tuff. Since you are in the Bay Area checkout the Asian markets in the area. Look for Lucido and Bravas, both are very nice. Gatsby is another that is OK.

Cheers,
David

Booster's, June Clover. Really nice spring/summer splash.

Spainish Floid. kind of a sweet smell.

Big +1 on the speick splash. Very soothing. Great in the winter.

Proraso Splash. Nice tingly, menthol, sort of deal.

I quite like, Pre de Provence, Verlain. Very light subtle fragrance.

Proraso splash, Floid and DR Harris Arlington are all "must try" in my book. Maybe give some GFT Skinfood a go to, if you haven't already.

I knew I forgot at least one!

Also have:
Em's Minty Menthol
SCS Blue Line
Trumper's Skinfood: Coral & Limes

I see Floid recommeded a few times, I was interested in it, but is it in the Brut/Clubman (+menthol) range of scents?

Never really contemplated Boosters, seems to have quite a fan base. I'll be looking into that right away.

La Toja sounds interesting, can anyone help describe the notes?

Fantastic collection. I would add Florida Water, Kananga Water, Colonia de Rosas, (all Murray & Lanman products), and a Taylor of Old Bond Street Lotion (I love Mr. Taylor--wait, that sounds wrong), and am currently awaiting the controversial No. 74 Original (as a Lilac Vegetarian, you may like it)

The Original (orange colour) Italian Floid doesn't smell of menthol at all to me. It has a sweet soapy/powder scent. Basically, a sugared barbershop Spanish Leather without any discernable spice or citrus... an example of Italian Leather? I like the smell, though it's quite long lasting.
The Blue Italian Floid smells like Old Spice Whitewater but lasts 1000 times longer.

I'm unfamiliar with the Spanish versions.

+1 on the Taylor lotions. Although they do not get much play in the review section I find them to be very pleasant and soothing.

I think you NEED to get Floid. It's my favourite AS right now. Definitely try out La Toja as well, and since you don't have the Proraso splash I think that should be added.

Trumper West Indian Limes splash (but only if you have tough skin, given its traditional formulation of alcohol, water and fragrance)

D.R. Harris Pink (if you have tender skin and don't mind the fragrance going virtuallly unnoticed)

Santa Maria Novella aftershave splashes (called "lotions") - pick your scent
