I've been using an alum block almost everyday, and I love it. Aside from tightening the skin and reducing razor burn, it gives you great feedback on your technique.
Started using an alum block when I first began DE shaving thanks to a suggestion from a member. Never shave without it now. Yes it does reveal those misses in technique. Discovered that anew two weeks ago with my first Fatip Piccolo shave.
I use alum block occasionally and Thai Crystal for deodorant daily.
