What's new

Alpha Spirit!

This is my favorite razor now. It has surpassed the Overlander. I can use this daily without irritation, against the grain, and since using this, I have had zero nicks or issues. Hard to believe I can use a AC razor with Schick Proline blade as autodriver. This is the easiest razor I have used so far. I'm amazed I'm not seeing more praise and excitement for this fantastic razor. I will definitely be buying a second as a backup in the future. I've had great success with Feather Pro Guard, Feather Pro, Kai Captain and Shick Proline, it just works with all the blades.

Finish and precision machining on this is top tier, it's right up there with Aylsworth Apex, definitely better than anything I've used from Yates and I do think it's slightly more precise than Overlander.

It's a gorgeous razor

Head shaver who shaves daily or every other day here. I have and love the La Faulx, but after about 10 shaves with the Alpha Spirit I'm starting to wonder if it is beating out the La Faulx for the top SE razor for me. The Spirit with a Feather Pro Super is extremely nimble, efficient and smooth on the skin. Its ATG work reminds me of the Overlander (maybe a notch less smooth, definitely a notch more efficient). It is also forgiving in terms of workable angles, which combined with the manueverability makes for a fast, safe and close shave. Very impressed.

Just to have full disclosure with my experience with the Spirit. I placed my order for the Spirit within minutes of the pre-order sales start. The the very next day an opportunity to get the La Faulx ++ head popped up and I jumped on it too. This gave me time to get plenty of shaves in with the La Faulx while waiting for the Spirit to ship. Well within a handful of shaves I could tell the La Faulx was going to be the perfect razor for me. Knowing that, I decided to cancel my Spirit order and my refund was promptly returned, no questions asked.

Then about a month later I get a shipment notification that my razor had shipped. Since I knew the package was already in transit I decided to take a wait and see approach before contacting Steve. While I was waiting for the package to arrive I went through a few scenarios in my head on what to do with the razor when it showed up. Sending it back would have been easy enough, but then the added expense of shipping seemed wasteful. Then I though about hitting Steve up and suggest using it as a pass-around. And lastly I could just pay for it and keep it. The pass-around seemed like a good idea and I figured I might as well start off by shaving with the Spirit a few times before sending it on. BIG MISTAKE ... Within a couple of shaves, boom, zeroed in, perfect shaves. That ended any idea about the pass-around. This razor was mine to keep, ain't sharing, don't ask. :c1:

I'm so glad this razor was shipped by mistake. I would have missed out on a really excellent piece of shaving hardware.

Got one on order…couldn’t resist. The La Faulx ++ is one of the best razors I’ve ever used. If the Spirit comes remotely close it will be a keeper.

good to know i'm part of the few who got in on this excellent shaving gear early on. i feel its going to the top of many folks' AC favourites. Those yet to explore AC, this is the time to do it. shaves as well as razors twice its price and comparably light like a Ti razor that makes it nimble AF.
