Honestly, I think those are pretty cool looking, as a design concept. The AE Cap-toe balmoral is about a good looking as it gets for men's shoes, IMO. BUUTTT, what the heck would you wear them with?

I say nay, but that's just because I would end up standing in my closet, starting at them, and scratching my head.

+1. I spent a while trying to figure out what I have that would go with them. I decided I would need to buy new clothes just to have something to wear. I'd rather get a new walnut/tan leather pair that I could dress up or down depending on the occasion.

I'm thinking they would be good with chinos. They are selvedge denim (note the selvedge stripe on the cap toe) and will fade like a pair of raw denim jeans. Being a fledgling denim geek I thought the design was pretty awesome.

I think they look terrible to be honest. I know there's fashion differences between the UK and the US but I wouldn't be seen dead in those vile creations to be honest....

I assure you I have plenty of shoes which would be UK approved, from burnished walnut balmoral wingtip ankle boots to the 8Japanese eyelet oxblood Solovair boots gracing my feet as we speak.

I do like a nice pointy wingtip! I know a few don't like pointy shoes but I think they're very rock 'n' roll ;-)

It was a limited edition shoe which was removed at midnight, most likely. They were a captoe made of raw selvedge denim. The cap had a selvedge stripe and there were selvedge stripes on the heel.

Here's a picture for reference. I like the look but I think you have to have a certain personality to pull it off, and I'm sure I could not pull it off.

I have to say, I don't think that shoe is that big of a fashion faux pas. It kind of looks like an updated blue seude buck, and I like the captoe. Although I don't really like the white in the heel (makes it look like a bowling shoe).
