All aboard the Brown Leaf Bus

Hello everybody! I am Jason, I have been a member at B&B a few months now. I have Been reading a lot of the threads here at the brown leaf recently so i figured i would make my first post here and a brief intro. Ever since joining the site the idea of acquiring a pipe has growing on me. I have been a non smoker for quite a long time with the exception of a cigar on rare occasion. My girlfriend recently brought me back a few cigars from Cuba and That has peaked my interest. I have been scouring the net looking for humidors and information on cigars. She is going back with her mom in a few months and I have already started to compile detailed want lists including prices for her.

Welcome Jason! You found the right place and you defiantly found the right girl! We are happy to have you here!

Welcome to B&B and the wonderfully wide world of the Brown Leaf :) This is by far one of the most accomodating forums on the net, and the gentlemen here will answer any questions you have regarding pipes and cigars, and anything else for that matter. Again, welcome!

welcome!! If theres anything specific you have questions on, feel free to ask, the guys here will be happy to help or answer any questions....just be warned, a lot of times these guys have a knack of instilling really bad AD's on others...a bunch of bad influencing enablers here i tell ya

Welcome, Jason. I am more of a pipe smoker (good cigars are a bit too costly for me) but there are a lot here to help you.

Shhhh we wanted to see if he would notice by the time he bought his second pipe rack :p

Welcome to the brown leaf. Nice to have you here.

Ask away if you have and questions. Were all here to help each other out.

Lol hunter... I think the Nib already put up his warning flags .... besides he seems to be like one of us guys who just do it to themselves without any need of AD help lol

Welcome to the leafs Jason, do you remember what cigars you had from the cuba trip?

Thanks for the welcome guys. Most of my questions have been answered by just reading through the forum but if any come up i will ask away. Try as you will but i really don't see any pipe racks in my posession in the foreseeable future. However if I do get one I will likely start with a churchwarden. She brought me Romeo y Julietta - No. 1 and Coronitas en Cedro. According to my research she had over paid for them. She meant well but they gave her lower end cigars, so i have some time to educate myself and her so she doesn't get ripped off net time.

Well, I have a new humidor now and a few more sticks to put in it. Now once again I find myself intrigued by pipes and pipe tobacco.

I prefer the pipes over the cigars. Cigars for me are a special occasion thing, pipes are a daily relaxation after work.

I like both but if you really start to feel the pull for pipes and tobacco, we have lots of threads about where to start and a lot of us love to answer questions.

it seems like that, but check out the cigar of the day thread, there are quite a few people who smoke both.

I have a buddy that just really got into cigars so we have a plan, every pay day we are going to put aside $100 and buy different cigars and see which ones we like, I have a few staples in my humidor but I don't want to miss out on any other awesomeness!

The best thing to do is to have her buy things from the La Casa Del Habanos and factory stores (factory stores might be LCDH's? Not sure) SO MANY fake cigars for the tourists around there! Just buy them in those stores and pay the price, it's worth it, imho, bad fakes look good but SUCK. It isn't really a 'go there and shop around' type of place or item.

Same thing when you go to the carribean and Mexico especially. Flooded with fake cigars that look genuine. Just the LCDH's.
