Age of gillette travel tech

$image.jpg I'm new to wet shaving and picked this travel tech up for 5 bucks. I'm trying to figure out its age all it has stamped on it is an S from what I've googled it's either 1947 or 1972 any help would be appreciated thanks Jacob

1950-1988 (letter codes)

Wasn't the head design changed sometime in the mid 60s? All the later examples I've seen images of had a plain 'Gillette' embossed on top, the head also had beveled edges and no holes in the diamond. While the OPs picture isn't the clearest I can see what might be a faint number stamp where one would normally find one.
