Aftershave Poll

I find I don't need to use aftershave of any sort these days. If I use aftershave, its because I want to. How about you?

Clarification: In the poll, "aftershave" means post shave product of some kind such as splash, balm, lotion, milk, alum, etc. The poll assumes one who does not use aftershave merely rinses with water post shave or simply wipes face clean and moves on with their day.

When shaving you're using a sharp metal edge to not only remove whiskers, but abraiding the top layer of skin, I always use a Splash, Gel or Balm that contain moisturizers and skin conditioners after my shave.

The face felt great after my shave this morning, but it's hot outside and the bottle of AV Ice Blue turbocharged even more with added menthol crystals called to me...ahhhhhh!

My face feels better with a good ASB, but I don't strictly need it. Still I use it every day.

I don't use a splash of any kind, but I do use Aveeno Aveeno Aftershave Lotion. I usually have a little neck irritation and this calms it down immediately. I think the moisturizing element is good in any case because I use an alum block right after my shave.

I use an aftershave lotion every day, after every shave. I like it and it's a vital part of my shaving routine.

Is this strictly looking at balms+splashes? Does witch hazel count? On non-shaving days, I'll use some witch hazel and maybe a moisturizer. Proper skin care is part of my daily routine.

I specifically don't distinguish between splashes or balms, just an aftershave of any kind.

I do not shave everyday but I always use some Dickinson's WH + an alcohol-based splash + the occasional balm after every shave. On off-days, I use some Thayer's WH for skin maintenance...sometimes I may also use some Clubman or AV Ice just for giggles or a temporary face freeze.

I find that I don't need it, and my spouse can't stand any kind of lingering scents anyway so I don't use anything. However I do use a soap with lanolin and kokum butter most of the time so that may have something to do with it.
