wondering if any of you use aftershave on mornings or evenings even when you haven't shaved? i ask 'cause during the summer it hot here and a little aftershave goes a long way to relieving the heat. also can you think of a downside (outside of waste) to putting aftershave on not recently shaved skin frequently. thanks...
Aftershave after not shaving?

I never used to use aftershave before I started wetshaving. Now I use aftershave even on days when I don't shave. Some for their fragrance or the balms for their moisturizing properties, but they get used everyday whether I shave or not.
I usually shave at night after the kids are in bed. But I throw on some Musgo balm after I shower every morning and then after washing my face before bedtime even on nights I don't shave. I figure it's like having moisturizer.
I toss a bit of aftershave on my face on weekends I am not showering right away and running out for errands, etc. Freshens me up and gives me a little scent to counteract the lack of showering.
Use after shave pretty much daily for different reasons. Usually for some type of scent, usually for my own enjoyment. Sometimes for other reasons like; If it's really hot out or a hot night I'll apply Osage pretty liberally. If I have dry skin I'll use some kind of balm or Musgo. Ogallala is a great cologne substitue & never fails to fetch a compliment. Come to think of it, I'm sure I can come up with a million reasons to use different after shaves but I'm sure the real reason is I just enjoy them, so I use them daily whether or not I shave.

I just LIKE the stuff, whichever it is...Musgo, just some rose or lemon witch hazel, Royall, Dominica, Proraso, Clubman...whatever mood I'm in, I grab a splash just for kicks or to freshen up, and if I'm being a disgusting pig lazing about in my own filth like Scoopster, then I'm all about Clubman or the Pinaud Bay Rum. That stuff will cover the stench of gangrene...

I've been known to reapply aftershave in the afternoon, but that is about it.

good to know. i guess i can liberally splash on the aftershave without guilt. thanks for the replies.

+1 to osage rub during hot days and nights. I'll even go a step further and say I've splashed a little Royall in the bin before... not because the bathroom stinks, but because it's the only place I can comfortably splash a colored liquid without worrying about stains or otherwise. Just a few drops disperse into the air and last all day. 
I do this. I often need the moisturizing for my skin.
I have so many aftershaves, balms etc that if I didn't apply one when I don't shave I would never get through them. Great isn't it
Yep. I often wear aftershave balm instead of cologne.
I find sometimes i get irritation withing 24-36 hours after shaving, i get some bumps and itch, i shave every second day, sicne my beard is patchy and doesnt grow all that fast, lol, maybe when i grow up i will have a full beard 
but alot of the time, i wash my face at night, and put a after shave for sensitive skin on ,and it keep s my bumps at bay for the night, where my pillow is rubbing on my neck and stuff,

I really like a bit of menthol as a pick me up - I keep a bottle of Booster Polar Ice in the desk at work to freshen up and also keep a small bottle of the Polar or AV in the gym bag - feels great after a workout and a steam!
I often splash on some Aqua Velva, regardless of whether I've shaved. Good for what ails ya.

Just like everyone else! I like to use AS even if I haven't shaved. It just smells nice, and some feel really nice.
Other than the morning shave, I usually apply a little in the later part of the day as well. I just messaged some OS minutes back. . nice . .
