After shave/cologne use

I have been wet shaving for many years and more often than not, used an aftershave and/or cologne. For the past several years I have not done so on a regular basis mainly because I have noticed that by far most men in my circle (work, church, social) do not wear these products.

With my rekindled interest in all things shaving, I am tempted to try some of the aftershaves and colognes described in these pages.
I realize that some of the products are stronger than others and one should select scents accordingly and perhaps specific for the occasion.

Having said that, I would greatly appreciate your thoughts on this topic.

PS Not really looking for another AD...but there could be one lurking in the shadows. :blushing:

Jump in the deep end of course!

I'm in fairly conservative circles also, but I think every guy should try the classics like Speick, Musgo Real and maybe even Floid.

Get a sampler from Penhaligons. Request samples and find what you like.

I like Creed also - lots of great choices and samples.

After some time, I found I liked simple scents with fewer notes. Nothing too complex or synthetic smelling (like the teenie stuff at the mall.)

For example, I go to work early and like a citrus fragrance. Picks me up. Sometimes in the evening I go for lavender and it is relaxing.
