Advice on a decent fine badger brush?

I currently own the a cheapo that came with stand and mug. I use proraso soap currently, but just ordered some Truefitt and Hill shave cream. I would prefer one that stays wet and does a good lather with either soap or cream. I like to lather in the bowl for starters, but do enjoy exfoliating a bit by face lathering as well. Really don't want to spend over 50 bucks. And yes I know most fine badgers are a bit more. Any recommendations? Thanks.

First, be aware that the term "Fine" differs from one brand of brush to another. Some call it "Best."

My recommendation is the Edwin Jagger Best Badger in Medium, it should be easy to find from numerous sources, around $40. This is the OEM version of the classic Crabtree & Evelyn BBB. Its the perfect introduction to badger brushes.

Hey 76, the EJ BBB that DPM refers to is the one on the extreme left and is a GREAT brush that still gets a run in my rotation. The butterscotch next to it is a Finest 2-band from TGN that I had them make for me. Shipped it cost about $60 (that's international shipping - to Australia!). It's the 24mm knot but you could get a smaller knot and still come in under $50. You could get a 22mm knot for $21.95, a nice handle for about $16 and request they make it "assembly" for you for $9.95 (link below). The EJ BBB as I said is a GREAT brush but if you've got your heart set on a Finest it's hard to go wrong with a TGN mate. PM if you have other questions - they are really easy to deal with.
