I really like the shave that my slim is giving me, but I wish that the handle had more heft. Is it possible to get a new handle or would the adjustable mechanism rule that out? And if I did get a new larger handle am I just creating a fatboy?

Of the four most commn Gillette adjustable models (Fat Boy, Slim, Super short, Super long), the Slim has the smallest handle. (Though the long handle SA with the plastic base plate[11] is probably the least hefty.)
It's likely to be less trouble to try these other models than to recraft a handle. So it might be worth first trying the Fat, or the short SA (12).

I'd look into trying to obtain a fatboy. Sounds like just what you need.
