Doctor doctor, help i think im suffering from a
disorder more like a disease. All i can do is think
about what new shaving products i can acquire;
the sad part doctor is that i know i am unemployed
but this beast of a disease has overtaken me, yes i know
i am unable to fill my desires of gathering these products
but that doesnt stop me from hunting; doctor i have very
severe symptoms listen to this, shaving has consumed 90%
of my day everyday and i only shave every other day;but
yet i find myself carrying a brush handle in my pocket, all
i smell is lather; i day dream about the way the bristle
feels on my face and then the smell of pinaud clubman
takes the lathers place, i think im losing my mind;
no doctor that is not just it, i havent gotten any
sleep in days my eyes are red and glazed, all i do is
sit on my bed on badger and blade, and if not there
im shopping online im afraid.... what should i do?, i exclaimed
the doctor just looked at me with a grin and said son i feel
your pain.... oh sorry doctor but i have to leave as i have
no time to waste, i must get home without post-haste for today
is the day i shave

I am new to wet shaving, but I feel your pain. I have a disease called NAS that is incurable.

NAS = Nikon Acquisition Syndrome

My hobby is photography and my new wet shaving hobby seems to be much less expensive, LOL.

I too am unemployed (as a chemical engineer) and have been without full time work for almost 15 months. That has put NAS on hold, but wet shaving items are much more affordable than new Nikon lenses or DSLRs. It is very good that I have a wife that still has her full time job as a teacher. That allows us to keep everything current.

The new suggestions for monthly shaving themes sticky may shove me off the wagon, too. I just saw that today. I would have to pick up some Musgo Real aftershave and a lime shaving soap or cream. I've also been thinking about a Rooney Finest brush of some sort for about a year now, and I don't know if I can resist much longer.

yea i kinda think so; dont write poetry that often though;
I got a little interested in it in the 7th grade; started writing alot
in the 11th grade

strangest thing about my disease, while it is so
very strong, i only have very little shaving stuff actually,
i have the following: 1 Parker 22r , 1 vdh soap bowl,
1 vdh soap puck, 1 pack of dollar general blades,
1 vdh deluxe brush, 1 vdh handle, 1 bottle pinaud as
1 bottle pinaud talc, and 5 oz of C.O Bigelow. It
took me a month to acquire that amount of stuff.
as i really do not have any money at this time.
i only have what my family has got me; oh and
some one is giving me a few blades to try, and someone
is giving me some half a bottle of sandalwood sc to try
because i have never even smelt it. so i can count those to
i guess.


i think it is worse to have the disease and not be able to buy;
because if you can buy you can feed your beast and keep him
at bay ; but mine he is starving and will not go away.
