I'm not crazy about the fact that it has menthol (not usually a good thing BEFORE a shave) but I think there is a very minimal amount.

After I shave I use a product called Sea Breeze which has alcohol and a couple of essential oils followed by Lubriderm lotion which is non-comedogenic. Seems to work good for me.
