Most decent absinthe made today comes out of Switzerland or France. A simple absinthe rule, if it is bright green, and comes from Czechoslovakia, give it a wide berth.
I had a shot of Lucid last night.It has the taste of anise ,but an underlying taste of mescal.I have tasted others absinthes that have a more pronounced green herbal taste,and I prefer that flavor myself,even though I suspect the original may lean more towards the anise flavor standing out.
