What's new

A revised opinion (upwards!) on the Hart Steel razors.

I bought a new Hart Steel 7/8 square point with white resin scales a little while ago, and I've now shaved with it a couple times. I posted a photo of it here. This new blade has forced me to reassess the Harts, and move my opinion up a few notches.

I had initially found one online at thirty percent off, which seemed too good to be true. And it was. I posted about it here. That put me off the Harts as overrated and overpriced, but still something told me I was being hasty in that judgement. And, of course, I know they get a lot of love from their owners here. So I tried again, ordering this one from Classic Shaving, and I am glad I did.

The edge on this blade is great. I love the feel of it in my hand, and the shave it gives is superlative. On the SWMBO scale, this blade has earned the rare accolade of "smoothest shave you've had."

Glad you found the second go around with the Hart a better experience.
I just sold mine for the second time but I am definately going to get another. Will get the polished, square point next time.

Hart razors are great - and the the manufacturer takes the time to make them "straight" for much easier honing. Dovo, TI, Boker, and even Wacker often come with some slight warp or other "issue".

I used my 7/8 square point this morning. An excellent shave. I love when this one comes up in the rotation.
