A RAD Prevention Deal and My Den Contents

So SWMBO and I have come to an agreement recently before my My den got out of control... We have agreed that the Den must follow a rule of 3 + 1 I have have no more then 3 of each component of a shave (plus a travel Kit) So that would be

3 Razors
3 Soaps/Creams
3 Aftershaves/balms
3 Brushes
Blades do not apply

Anything beyond these must either be sold or PIF'd Do you think this is a fair agreement and think you could do it? My den is currently close to the maxs

Razors - Cheap Amazon Razor
- Gilette Old
Soaps/Creams - C.O. bigelow
- The Body Shop Macha Root
- DR Harris Arlington
Aftershaves - Pinuad Bay Rum
- Old Spice
- AOS Sandlewood Balm
Brushes - Omega Boar
- AOS Pure Badger

If it was agreed to by those involved I would say fair. Personally I have no problem. I have stuff for home and stuff for the gym (which is left there). The only areas I have gone crazy are OS mugs and bottles. I have one of each model of OS mug and several different OS collector (?) bottles.

I could do it, but do not see the need to. As for fairness of the agreement, what did she agree to do in consideration of your minimalist den.

How much makeup or perfumes does she have? Shoes, handbags/purses?

shaving and the goodies (AD's) that accompany it is basically "me time/ spoiling/ pampering", and as a man, there is little of it that we do for ourselves.

If it was a agreed to by both parties, then yes, it's fair.

As for the numbers, I personally don't see the need for restrictions. My question is have you defined "have?" Can you acquire a new cream and dispatch with the old once it arrives, or must you already have used/pif'd/sold the older product before acquiring the new? What is your grace period? It seems the terms as written above can be applied in such a manner that you could have an infinite collection as long as you were in the process of complying with the agreement between you and yours.

i can get rid of it once the new one arrives, i do not have to make space prior, Its a good faith agreement as to not have to much products as we only have so much space.. It was agreed on by both parties, on my part to prevent holding onto products that I do not enjoy and to spread the love when i find stuff i like better then my current supply...

I'm pursuing a financial parity strategy with my wife. Last weekend she bought a $25 lipstick. That's a couple tubs of soap for me. She's lucky that shoes don't count (and I guess, my technology gadgets and books don't count either).

How big can your travel kit be?

Really though - limiting yourself and trading out might lead to a smaller, but higher quality kit.

My questions are the same? What are her concessions? On what exactly are her limits on? If you have to give something up, what about her? This almost sounds like self imposed limits. I could possibly live under the ruled you posted, but would need a few more AS balms/lotions. I like winter types and summer types, and as little as i use, they seem to last forever...like a williams soap puck, just never gets used up even when you want it to.

Besides, this cheaper than cartridge shaving isnt it?

Like others have said, it depends. Are you guys on a plan to save or have financial issues? My wife and I have a similar agreement for my RAD but that is just because we are trying to pay off 2 cars super fast and have a 11 month old who is espensive. TO that end she has limits too.

If you are doing it to work towards goals and she has a similar arraignment I say its a good plan. If you are just on a short leash I suggest a serious discussion is needed.

I say this not at mean but the reason my 2nds marriage is working great is because my first one gave me lots of examples of what not to do, and the one sided money issues was one.
