A question about density and the different Simpson Chubby 1 hair grades.

I recently purchased a Simpson Chubby 1 and have used it everyday over the last week. I'm pretty familiar with Simpsons Best hair as I've had a quite few Simpsons over the last few years. I find the size of the Chubby 1 to fit me well and love the density or the knot. I really like the way the knot sucks to my face when I'm building my lather. My question is that I want to possibly get another Chubby 1 but in 3 Band Super and how is the density compared to the best? Will I get that same feeling on my face but only softer? What about 2 Band versus the Best? Thanks in advance for any input...

Personally, the Cubby1 2-band is the best of the lot; not as dense, great backbone and flow-though and extremely soft tips! Highly recommend it.

According to some, the super (3 band) will splay much more than the 2 band.
But I think density should be on par because density is linked to the label 'chubby' not the type of hair used.

I've had the chubby 1 in all 3 grades of hair you mentioned. When I asked the seller I purchased my chubby 1 super to describe the hair, the following was his response:

"The chubby is a premium offering from Simpsons...it's a great brush and you really can't go wrong with it! If you like a soft brush, then go for the 3-band super...if you like a bit of scritch, less dense knot with more backbone, get it in 2-band Super...want more scritch but don't want to sacrifice too much density, get it in Best".

So, i did what many of us with sbad do- i bought all grades

I sold the 3 band super because it was a little bit of a lather hog. It was extremely dense and quite luxurious feeling. Much softer and a bigger face-feel than the best grade. In hind site, I do have sellers remorse, although I really didn't use it often.

The 2-band is a great brush. It's a little less dense and has excellent flow-through. Just the right amount of scritch and backbone to destroy triple milled soaps. I thought it was my favorite of the 3 chubby's that I had- but then...

The chubby 1 in best that I have is perplexing me. I had been thinking of selling it- and i dont really like selling my brushes. However, i am trying to slim down the den a bit. Over the last 3 days I have used both the best and 2-band chubby, with the intent of selling the best haired chubby. My shave yesterday with the best was truly luxurious. I may actually prefer it to my 2-banded chubby.

What about the best haired chubby is it that makes you want a different type of hair chubby? What characteristics are you looking for in your next brush?

Chubby 1 in 2-band is excellent; I don't have the other hairs. But I have been disappointed in Simpsons' 3-band super. I love Simpsons' best hair in other brushes -Duke 2, Classic 2 and the 58.
