A nice surprise while creeping.

So I was perusing a different forum today, and before I even read the words associated with the pictures or saw who posted it I instantly recognized the wood that the guy's scales are made of as MY wood. This jogged my memory, as I actually sold that wood to Bob Allman months ago, and forgot all about it until I saw that he finally got around to making himself a razor (as opposed to the long list of razors made for clients he no doubt has).

I don't know if he's a member here, but Bob, I had issues with that wood warping badly too - I figured it out as you did, but I think your bar-top epoxy option was the better route to take. At the time, I only knew how to use CA...

Here's Bob's custom made blade he made for himself (the guy does exquisite work) with that spalted maple:

the black lines are called spalting - its not a burl, but it is an end-grain, which makes it a PITA to work with - but well worth the trouble!
