"A lot" of razors.

I picked up a 12 razor lot off eBay for $44 incl shipping.
Its a decent lot with a couple of good razors, but I really wanted the Gillette Old Type...
Here is the pic from the auction, as you can see, there will be a lot of cleaning required


The only other pic of the Old Type is this one, silver plated, no bent teeth..a good sign


I received the lot in the mail yesterday, but didnt get a chance to look at the razors until today.
Im quite happy with all of them, they should clean up well


Here is the smooth ball/solid handle Canadian model




I believe the serial number is PC101437


I gave it two baths in aluminum foil/baking soda/boiling water, and a light polish with Peek and a microfiber cloth.
It is cleaning up nicely, I just need to clean between the teeth some more
No markings (Made in Canada or the diamond logo) on the back


A bit of pitting and wear on the cap, but it looks nice in "real life"










I will post more of the other razors as I get them cleaned up

No Rocket, it is a 40's style Super Speed, not sure if its date coded or not, I haven't cleaned it yet and there is quite a bit of soap scum on the bottom

The "Rocket" has always been confusing. Rockets are all Made in Canada/England/Other European countries. We have the British Rocket which has a different TTO knob than yours, seen here:

British Rocket: (Different than yours)




Then we have a Canadian Rocket which is identical to the razor you have and looks identical to a regular SuperSpeed.

Canadian Rocket:




U.S. Superspeed:





Yours is not a British Rocket, as we can see it is a different razor. If your razor is Made in U.S.A. it is a Superspeed, and if it is Made In Canada it is a Rocket.

At least this is how I have always understood it.

I dug it out and gave it a quick clean..its a standard, Made in the USA, Y2 Superspeed

If it is in good order that adjustable injector is one of the all time greats. You got tremendous value for the cash.
