I just set the bevel on the Le Grelot I restored. Pitting was pretty bad and to some extent went all the way to the edge. It took me quite a while on the dmt1200. I had a few questions maybe someone can help me with?
1. I was wondering, can it be problematic (resulting in an edge not as nice), if some pitting is actually on the bevel (but not directly on the edge of course)?
2. When rectifying a frowned blade, am I right into applying more pressure towards the point/toe of the blade such as to remove more material over there until it falls in line with the rest of the body?
3. Finally, this has nothing to do with honing but, do you guys always put washers on the inside when pinning a blade (between the blade and the scales)? I've seen some old razors with, some without, and was wondering about it. On most of the razors I've restored I've but some washers, but on 2 of them I didn't since it seemed to fit better.
Thanks in advance for your help
